Dunhuang Mogao Cave Ceramic Teapot — Rock Glaze, Moss Green

There is a stillness to this teapot that asks you to slow down. Inspired by the ancient art of the Mogao Caves and shaped in the classic square Fang Hu (方壺) form, it is glazed in a rare Rock Glaze (岩生釉) — a finish that evokes the weathered surface of ancient stone, dappled with moss and threaded with fine gold lines. Rock Glaze — 岩生釉

The glaze colour shifts like stone worn by centuries of wind and rain — or like patches of moss clinging to ancient rock. Quiet, ancient, and full of depth. Fine gold thread (Miao Si Jin Xian / 描絲金線) is delicately applied across the surface, adding a whisper of restrained luxury to an otherwise austere finish.
