FUGE was founded in 2009 and is widely regarded as the originator of the leather sculpture flower jewellery craft in China. The technique involves selecting fine-grain first-layer cowhide, wetting it to a precise point of pliability, and shaping it entirely by hand — without moulds, without machines — before allowing it to set in its formed state. Dyes are hand-mixed and applied by the artist, giving each piece a colour that is unique to that specific piece of leather and that specific moment of application.
The collection currently includes hand-sculpted butterfly earrings (Emotion, in Amber and Red), abstract leather drop earrings (Emo), and hand-sculpted flower earrings (Devoted and Mist).
